In September, David Said will officially celebrate one year with SportsLife Leadership. His ministry experience, however, goes back to 2003 when he first parlayed his dual athletic and training career into the early workings of significance as a sports leader.

Traveling to Macaé, Rio for four days to support and participate in Anderson Couto’s ministry outreach, SL team members conducted a three-hour leadership training session for 22 sports leaders from various disciplines, mainly jiu-jitsu and fitness.

SportsLife Leadership spent two impactful weeks ministering, networking, and expanding its reach at the European IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Lisbon, Portugal. Anderson Couto and David Said served as chaplains conducting Bible studies at local training centers and churches.

At the World Master IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Las Vegas, we had some great times of fellowship and conversation about what it looks like to live this life the best we can with Jesus as our foundation.

There was a lot of seed planting thanks to the great conversations that took place between our staff and the campers. And for the believers that were there, we prayed with them and encouraged them to grow in their faith.
